Purpose-built mechanical pipe cleaning systems that cut, abrade and remove heavy deposits from sewer and drainage pipes — without excavation, without water jetting, without compromise. Chain-driven. Field-proven.
Hardened mineral scale, compacted grease, embedded roots and heavy corrosion often cannot be removed by water pressure alone. Mechanical chain cleaning physically cuts deposits off the pipe wall.
Three configurations. One philosophy: maximum cleaning effectiveness with the simplest, most reliable mechanical design.

Common questions about NoDig high-speed mechanical pipe cleaning machines.
Motor-driven chains rotate at high speed inside the pipe and physically cut and abrade deposits off the wall — mineral scale, limescale, compacted grease, root intrusion and corrosion layers. Water jetting pushes material along the pipe; chain cleaning takes it off the wall and leaves the clean, profiled substrate that an epoxy lining needs in order to bond. NoDig builds three chain cleaning machines — V8 DN50–DN150, V1 DN32–DN100 and mini6 DN32–DN100 — covering DN32–DN150. See the next step: epoxy rehabilitation →
The cleaning line covers DN32–DN150. The mini6 handles DN32–DN100 — small residential and inspection pipes, driven by any cordless drill, 11 kg with a Ø6 mm × 10 m cable. The V1 handles DN32–DN100 for residential and light commercial work — Ø6 mm × 20 m cable, two DeWALT 18V 5Ah batteries, 19 kg. The V8 handles DN50–DN150 for municipal and industrial drainage — Ø8 mm × 18 m cable, DeWALT 18V/54V 9Ah, 23 kg. All three run at 550–2200 rpm except the mini6, whose speed follows the drill used. For the follow-on epoxy rehabilitation, the range is DN40–DN300.
No. NoDig equipment and BSE epoxy are made for drain and sewer pipes only — domestic, commercial, municipal and industrial drainage. They are not intended for and not approved for potable or sanitary water systems, and NoDig holds no NSF 61, WRAS or WRc certification for them. Any claim to the contrary, wherever it appears, is incorrect.
The V8 (DN50–DN150, 23 kg) is the heavy-duty machine — the thickest cable at Ø8 mm and the highest torque, for hard mineral deposits and heavy corrosion in municipal and industrial drainage. The V1 (DN32–DN100, 19 kg) is the compact, mobile alternative with the longest cable of the three at 20 m, faster to deploy for residential and light commercial work. The mini6 (DN32–DN100, 11 kg) is the lightest, runs off any cordless drill rather than a dedicated battery pack, and is made for tight access points. Chains, cables and heads are matched to pipe diameter and deposit type.
Yes, and it is the reason the cleaning line exists alongside the lining line. Chain cleaning with the V8, V1 or mini6 removes every deposit and leaves the surface profile that BSE two-component epoxy needs to bond to. Residual scale, grease or corrosion will compromise adhesion. NoDig treats mechanical chain cleaning as the mandatory pre-treatment before any ProLight, ProLight2 or The Pipe Boy application, and the pipe must be dried completely after cleaning before the epoxy goes in.
Yes, and it is included in the purchase rather than sold separately. Operators are trained at the NoDig Training Centre in Osijek: machine setup, chain and tooling selection for the deposit type, cleaning technique, drying and surface preparation, cartridge loading and epoxy application, and quality control on camera after curing. Ongoing technical support and spare parts availability come with it.
